The courses that I undertook on Medical Nutrition Therapy at California State University Polytechnic, Pomona, reinforced my experience in Medical Nutrition Therapy. Some of my experiences as a student in the area of Medical Nutrition Therapy included case studies on: Alzheimer’s disease and enteral feeding program, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, renal disease, and diabetes. From these case studies, I developed strong analytical skills of reading patient’s medical/nutrition assessment. I gained nutritional skills from these studies and it would be a pleasure to apply these skills and competence in the North Oaks Health System Dietetic Internship program for the good of the organization. I also developed a strong foundation for analyzing and choosing proper enteral feeding or parenteral feeding for patients. My passion for working in the field of Medical Nutrition Therapy is further demonstrated by my action of creating a black book of Medical Nutrition Therapy as a preparation to dedicate myself in this field.
