Question 1
The study that I conducted that required Chi Square statistics involved a drug trial on a group of animals. It was hypothesized that the animals that received the drugs exhibited higher heart rates than the one that did not receive the drug. As such, the variables included the level of heart rate and treatment with drug. The following were the null and alternate hypothesis:
Ho: The percentage of animals whose heart rate is high is independent of drug treatment.
Ha: The percentage of animals whose heart rate is high is related to drug treatment.
Chi Square test is appropriate for this design because it involves investigation of whether distributions of categorical variables differ from each other. In relation to the research question, the Chi Square statistic indicates that the animals that received the drugs exhibited higher heart rates than the one that did not receive the drug. However, the statistics does not indicate whether it is receiving or not receiving the drug is the better option (Greenwood & Nikulin, 1996).
Question 2
I believe that regression analysis is the best statistics method to be used in my study. I am mostly interested with this method because of its forecasting ability. It can be used in the research to predict what is likely to happen into the future………………………………………………………………..
