Information about my workplace and scenario:
I am a Qualified Kindergarten Teacher. I work in an International Kindergarten in Hong Kong. I teach children aged 3-4 years old. The teachers and children in my school are multi-cultural. I am the class teacher of lower class. I have two assistant teachers working with me in my class. As my teacher assistants are not qualified or trained teachers, I have problems making sure the children are learning effectively. As we are from different cultures, the understanding and communication becomes a problem for me at times. I am currently using a non-directive mode for mentoring them as I would like them to analyse and reflect on their teaching skills and also observe and learn from me. But I feel they are unable to do so and thus the learning and teaching is not so effective in my class.
