For the major project report the group will report on the application of management concepts in recommending solutions to the identified business problem from the proposal outlined in assignment 1.
 
The report needs to cover the following:

Cover Page, Title Page, Table of Contents, Appendices (5 marks)

Cover Page – Download from Moodle
Title Page – Include the name of course and course number; project title, student names and ID numbers, lecturer name, submission date.
Table of contents – List section headings, any subheadings used, and any graphics included – gives page numbers for each report component
Attach relevant supporting material not included in the body of the report as appendices. Link your appendices with the specific sections of your report.

Your introduction must state who the report is prepared by and for whom, importance of the investigation, the report objectives, and what is covered in each report section.

Situation Analysis (15 marks)

Profile the organisation: Discuss issues in the general and business operating environments impacting on the organisation. Provide the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the organisation. Make reference to the organisational purpose, structure, and roles performed by managers. Discuss the leadership style within the organisation. Make reference, as is appropriate and relevant to the operational activities e.g. technology, people, products/services, culture, formal systems, teamwork, communication, and other relevant organisational components.

Identify the problem or issue being investigated (5 marks)

From your investigations and discussions with the manager, identify a key problem or issue in the organisation that needs some resolution. Explain the importance of investigating your identified problem or issue and its current impact on the organisation.

Research Strategy, Data Collection, and Data Analysis (12 marks)

Discuss the research strategy and data gathering process you used in your investigations. Analyse the data that you have collected. Provide as evidence in your appendices the questions that you asked the organisation managers/personal that will help solve your issue or problem.

Findings and Discussion (10 marks)

Provide all of your findings as a result of your investigations. Discuss your findings of your investigation in detail but do not make any recommendations at this stage of the report.

Conclusions (10 marks)

Write your conclusions, and make sure that they flow from the body of the report. Do not include any new material.

Recommendations and Implications (15 marks)

Provide your recommendations, the rationale for the final recommendations (ie. why you chose them?), and likely implications/consequences of your recommendations on the organisation.
Write up a plan of action to implement the solution and develop appropriate control measures to monitor and evaluate its implementation.

Timeline (5 marks)

Provide a detailed breakdown of key tasks involved in implementing the recommendations, and give each task a specific completion date

Presentation, Citations, and References (8 marks)

The report should be professionally produced to a standard acceptable to the organisation it is meant for. It must be accurately typed, professionally presented and have a high standard of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Your report may contain supporting charts, maps, tables, and diagrams where appropriate.
The report must be accurately cited. It must have full details of all sources of external information used to compile the report using correct APA format. Note: It is important that theory used is integrated in your answers to support your arguments.
