Please use this as guide to write te review properly
Writing a More Perfect Play Review
Select and Prioritize the Following Elements in your Review

Heading: The heading is a summary of the details of the production, including play title, playwright, director, the name of the producing organization, and the run dates.
Plot Synopsis: Keep your synopsis brief. It should address the general detail of the storyline. It should not form the body of your review, only a component.
Substance and Meaning of the Play: What was the play about in terms of theme and meaning. What are the play, playwright, and production trying to say about life, society, the human condition?
Setting and Environment: What kind of atmosphere is created upon entering the theatre’s playing space. Is there music? How’s the stage lit? What about the theatre itself? What are your first impressions of the set?
Acting and Characters: Talk about the characters and their significance to the story. How was the acting? Did the actors seem convincing? Did you believe their emotional commitment? Could you hear them?
Language: How did the dialogue sound? Stilted or poetic or clichéd? Were there passages that were incomprehensible? Were there passages that were so beautiful that you just didn’t care if you didn’t understand it all?
Stage Business: How was the overall movement on the stage? This includes the movement of all the actors as well as set changes etc. Did it seem well organized, poetic, or chaotic?
Directing: How did all of the elements of the production come together? Did there seem to be a cohesive vision? Did the dialogue and action seem to move really slowly? Did the production seem to enhance and support the themes of the play and the intent of the playwright?
Design Elements: How did the set, costumes, lighting, sound and props all work? Were they beautiful to look at? What kind of a mood did they create? Was the mood right for the tone of the play? Were the set and costumes functional? In other words did they serve the actors well or did they seem to get in their way? Were there moments when the lighting was too dark? Too bright? Did the sound or score ever run over dialogue to the point where it was distracting or obscured what the actors were saying?
Other Significant Human Details: For example: What about the audience’s attitude? The lobby atmosphere? Any problem with parking? Is there a great restaurant near by?
Capsule Summary of the Overall Experience: This can happen at the end of the review or at the beginning or both. Was the play worth your while? Do you recommend it?

A Final Thought
Remember that your review is your opinion. We know this and therefore, you need not say things like “in my opinion,” and “this is how I feel.” For the most part simply state your thoughts and opinions while backing them up with examples from the play experience you saw. Also, USE THE ABOVE AS A GUIDE; YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADDRESS EACH AND EVERY QUESTION.
