Our group chose Capital Dynamics. Capital Dynamics is an investment company that deals in the management of Capital International Value fund in the country. The company assesses individual wholesale investors in the country and issues them with individually managed accounts (Capital Dynamics, 2012). This paper presents a report on how the company defines, understands and implements strategy. A strategy is useful in the organization since it helps in the identification of issues that need attention in order to maintain the smooth running of the organization. Issues that emerge from the organizational environment are addressed through the crafting and implementation of strategy. According to Carter, Clegg, Kornberger and Schweitzer (2011), strategies are meant to streamline the working of an organization through the crafting of effective plans to address issues in the organization in a complete way. Therefore, there is a comprehensive understanding of what a strategy is in Capital Dynamics. The employees of the organization also understand the role that strategies play in their organization.
Strategy components and their effects
Being an investment company, Capital Dynamics is a proactive organization which looks at investment issues in a proactive way. Strategy is thus critical to the operations of the company. According to the employees of the company, strategy is the guiding framework of working for the desired results. Strategy entails three main components which are the goals of objectives, the plan or work framework for achieving the goals and the expected outcomes. Control is also considered as a tenet of strategy. Controls helps in checking possible leakages in the implementation of strategy and correcting them. When all the components of a strategy are clearly aligned, the organization is able to handle the problem of matter at hand and attain improved results of performance. However, some strategies may cost an organization. This happens in cases where the steps of implementation are poorly articulated. In such cases, the goals and objectives are hardly met (Burton, Obel and DeSanctis, 2011).

The response from the company is that strategy involves the entire organization. This ranges from top organizational manager to the main staff of the organization and down to the subordinates. Its also involves other external players among them then the partners and clients of the company. The top managers collect views from both within and outside the organization and come up with recommendations which are codded in the strategy. They convene meetings with organizational staffs and explain the strategy to the employees. Through a participatory approach, employees are notified of the plan and their role in the implementation of the strategy. This presents an elaborate and desired approach to strategy in the organization. Cunningham and Harney (2012) and Russell and Russell (2005) observed that effective strategies have to involve all the players and stakeholders of an organization. This resonated from the argument that all organizational player are impacted by a strategy; directly and indirectly. They also play a role in effecting the plans as stipulated in the strategy.
Strengths and weakness of a strategy
Strategies are favorable in organization as they keep reinvigorating an organization and propelling it towards improving performance. Strong strategies in the organization are that that capture the needs and addresses the problems that face the organization. The weakness of a strategy is that it consumes organizational resources and my result in more loss. This happens in cases where main objectives are not met (Russell and Russell, 2005).
