What is your tentative topic? This is my topic!!
My topic is going to concentrate on leadership values and ethics. When I first started working for my last employer I admired my boss and aspired to live a path, of what I thought, his values and ethics were. However, after years a lack of trust became a problem in many aspects in the workplace. If leaders deceive and constantly go against what they have identified as their values, the mistrust becomes clear and hard to ignore. If leaders have identified and shared their values, living the values daily, visibly will create trust (I would like to concentrate on the importance of this fact). To say one sentiment and to do another will damage trust – possibly forever. Leaders must chose values and ethics, and then live them visibly every day. Living your values is one of the most powerful tools available to you to help you lead and influence others.
Outline – I HAVE TO HAVE THIS OUTLINE (must be 2 pages long and due in one week)
To the instructor, present an outline of the proposed paper. This should begin with your thesis statement at the top and continue as a bulleted outline of the main points and sub-points of the paper.
The Paper Itself (will be 8 pages but not due for another 3 weeks)
This paper will be an application of the leadership practice concepts learned across your degree curriculum to a real-world situation. In an 8 page paper, discuss one leadership challenge, either current or past, within your organization and your suggestions for overcoming the challenge based on your own research and concepts presented in your degree studies and founded in leadership theory.
Paper should, at minimum, include:
A description of the organization and its primary stakeholders. Include the vision and mission statement if they are available to the public and the code of ethics if the company has one (if it is long, an excerpt or description is an acceptable alternative).
The company was called – you can goggle it.
A detailed description of one challenge facing the leadership of the organization.
This would be by bosses dishonest actions and going against what he said his values were.
A strategy for overcoming the challenge based on outside research, the textbook, and concepts discussed during your degree studies.
Just be creative and keep in line with my thoughts such as: Leaders must chose values and ethics, and then live them visibly every day. Living your values is one of the most powerful tools available to you to help you lead and influence others.
