With respect to all the material on the blog: In thinking about how Christian monks have themselves spoken about prayer and the spiritual life, consider this: how does lectio divina seem to be similar to, and yet different from, the Orthodox practice of hesychastic prayer that is discussed in the video clip on the blog? What seems to be the point of each practice?

I ask you a weekly response question for two reasons. First, I want you to formalize some of your thoughts about what you watched in each weeks lecture and read in the assigned readings.
