The way in which the human immune system responds to infection is a beautiful, yet complex process. This illustrated report provides you with the opportunity to explore that process in detail. Brief:
In this report you are required to choose a disease caused by a pathogen and describe how the human body’s immune system responds to it, using illustrations to support your description. You are also required to critically analyse the efficacy of the different elements of the immune system in fighting that infection.
Assessment Criteria:
1. Clear, complete and well researched description of the nature of the immune response to the chosen pathogen with appropriate illustrations included. (55%)
2. Well balanced critical analysis of the efficacy of the different elements of the immune system in fighting the chosen pathogen. (35%)
3. Identification of relevant texts which the report will refer to using the Harvard referencing system outlined in the assignment handbook. (10%)
