Make sure you have read the “Artistic Media One” Lecture
How to do the Artistic Media Project is as follows:
• Decide upon a visual idea for your work of art that either says something about yourself as an individual or represents a cause you are championing (remember back to what inspires you).
•Your idea needs to be simple and not overly complicated to produce. If you do not have any extra money, then look to re-cycled art to get some ideas. Art is the act of creating and should be fun.
•The work you create needs to be done by you; not a past project, and in addition, cannot be a copy of another person’s art work.
•Again, your work has to be created at this time. You cannot use a piece of art you made earlier in your life.
•Decide if you want to do a 3-Dimensional piece (sculpting, carving…) or a 2-Dimensional piece. Next, you will need to choose a medium in which to produce your idea.
•You can draw or paint using traditional media such as pencils, crayons, paints, etc. and then take a picture of it with your phone.
•You can use the digital camera as your medium and produce an artistic photograph.
•You can use a graphic arts program such as Coral Painter, Photoshop or Illustrator, or any of the new apps that allow you to draw or paint.
•You can make a visit to Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or your nearest art store and find air dry clay or sculpty clay to make an additive type of sculpture.
•You can visit a junk yard and look of strange an wonderful items to combine/change or paint to produce a "found" sculpture. Do a Louise Nevelson…(don’t know what this means? look up her work!)
•You can use paper and glue to make a sculpture out of paper mache’
•If you want to try subtractive sculpting, get a new bar of soap and a sharp paring knife from your kitchen and go to work!
After you have finished your piece of art:
•Take a picture of it with your phone, chances are the settings are already set for internet quality. So make sure you have decent lighting so your image will be clear enough for all of us to see your art piece.
•You will need to accompany your work with an personal posting essay, sharing your experience with the class. I want you to talk about the reason behind your work and also talk a little bit about the process of making the art. Consider this your "Artist Statement", something most modern day artist will create with each exhibit they show.
•Your art work will be “Attached” to your essay. How to do this is spelled out in step-by-step directions below as well as in the HELP.

Notes about saving your image for uploading:
Size and Resolution:
Make the Resolution 72 dots per inch (dpi). Anything above that, on a computer screen, doesn’t help the picture at all.
Take a picture of your artwork using your phone and it should be fine to use that.
Save your work as either a GIF or JPEG. Do Not save it in any other format.
