This is a HISTORY paper that MUST follow the instructions as otherwise it’s useless. Not only write it based on the readings (I’ve given the required pages/chapters so you don’t have to waste time reading whole book, however, no reading , no writing. if not based on readings I’ll look for a refund or rewrite), but also remember that try not to write it at a strong native speaker’s point of view since I’m an international student.

Labor & The Civil War
The “dignity of labor” was integral to the Union and Confederate visions of the American Republic both before and after the Civil War. Develop a 4-5-page essay that discusses how the notion of “free labor” changed from the beginning of the Civil War to the end. In developing your essay you may consider which types of “labor” were considered honorable and which were not as well as how changes shaped the lives of particular people from approximately 1850-1877. Your paper should be 4-5 full pages with proper citations. As always, use examples from course readings and lectures to support your argument.
Goals to accomplish:
Present a strong thesis (main point) that is clearly supported by an organized essay/letter/speech where appropriate.
· Provide excellent examples to support your thesis.
· Show thorough comprehension of the ideas presented in class and in the reading.
· Demonstrate innovative ideas and approaches.
· Develop strong analyses of material and arguments found in lecture, reading, and research.
· Contextualize ideas and arguments to the overall historical period.
· Have proper citations as per syllabus.
· Write clearly, with few errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation or usage
