In this project you are to complete a written critique of the presentation and design
panels of this years joint GIS & Urban Planning and Landscape Design Charette. On
Friday Feb 17 you are to attend the charette presentations in place of our regular
weekly class. In addition you will have further opportunity to view the panels in the H
Gallery after the charette. The presentations and panels make use of many of the same
graphic techniques, methods and strategies that you are currently learning and you are
to evaluate what you see in written form, accompanied by supporting graphics as
required in a short essay. As part of this course you must learn to not only produce
graphics and use tools, but more importantly, learn when, how, where and why to use
graphics in your work. You also must learn what others in our field use to communicate
their work in graphic form.
Description: You will choose two charette group’s presentations and panels and graphics to critique.
Chose one team’s work that you see as successful (winning an award does not necessarily mean the
panels were good) and one team’s work that you see as having significant opportunities for
improvement. Answer one big question:
