Design and implement a maze solving program

The Assignment
The aim of this assignment is to implement a program that can analyse a previously unknown maze layout and determine if a route to an exit or target point is possible, if multiple routes exist the program should indicate their lengths. The maze data is to be loaded from a text file using the format specified on page 2. The program is to report the number of steps in each route found and the time taken to analyse the route. These results are to be saved in a text file using the CSV format and include details of each step in the solution. The final report is to include the results shown as graphs containing details from different mazes.
Students will work in groups of 3 to design the algorithm and evaluate its success at solving the challenge given.
Deliverables
Each group will be required to submit a written report via the links in Moodle. This report will be written in ACM conference paper format, be no more than four pages in length (plus an appendix containing any oversize diagrams or tables) and will detail the design, implementation and testing. The report will be written by all group members and each group member must clearly highlight their contribution within the report.
The report is to be submitted by 23:55 on the date shown above, in addition to the report each group must submit the entire project software as a single ZIP/compressed file via the second link on the Moodle page. This should include all the project files, the C source code files, CSV result files and the mazes used in the report.
Finally each member of the team must complete a peer assessment using the template on Moodle, the content of assessment is confidential and will not be disclosed to the other team members. You must also reflect on your own performance and include yourself in the review.

Specification
The maze size must be:-
• At least 4 characters wide
• At least 4 characters high
• No larger than 78 characters wide
• No larger than 22 characters high
The mazes must conform to the following rules
1. A map must have one entrance door
2. A map must have at least one end point
3. The inside cannot contain the entrance(2) or exit doors(3)
4. The outer edge can only contain:-
a. walls(1)
b. entrance door(2)
c. exit doors(3)
The mazes are to be defined in a text file using the following format:-

First line must start with “Maze file ”
Second line must start with “Group name: ”
Third line must start with “Map height: ”
Fourth line must start with “Map width: ”
Fifth line is the start of the data, each line of data MUST contain the exact number of characters for
the width specified and the number of data lines MUST match the height specified.
The data section of the maze map file uses the following code:
A space – a clear space in the maze
1 – a wall
2 – the entrance door (starting point)
3 – an exit door (end point)
4 – an internal destination point (end point)
5 – a way point (must be included in the route)
