Problem Statement
For a hybrid system consists of a 400 kW Wind with 50 meter hub height, 20 kW PV array with 24 kWh/year Battery system, and a 220 kVA Diesel Generator. Find the optimum combination of these sources of energy given the following constraints. Diesel generator operates 742 hours per year and the fixed cost of diesel generator operation is $86/Hour. The cost of energy from grid is $0.47/kWh. The grid buys back the power from your design at $0.25/kWh. The monthly wind speed and solar (clearness index and daily radiation) is shown in Table 1.
