Before you start teaching a class, it’s important to earn a reputable certification that gives you a reputable knowledge and skills that you will need so that you can deliver safe and effective exercise. In most cases you will find that fitness classes are led by inexperienced instructors with inadequate training and education. The certification should also be approved by other countries. It’s also important to find a mentor from the industry, at least, someone who teaches that modality you are pursuing. In this case, I will review various articles to find out the best practices in this field.
Once you have a skill you must be creative enough because if you are a trainer you must find people to train. You need to know what to sell to appeal to your local demographic, being the prime customers first. One way of achieving this is by use of posters, local FM stations and also being creative to build a website where people can source the information (Jackson, 2013).
Training is scheduled to be conducted three days a week that is Monday, Wednesday and Saturday (evening) and each session last one hour. Each session will have ten trainees as this is a good number to work with since it   needs a close supervision and a large number may be difficult to deal with. In order not to make the exercise so interesting theory and physical training will be carried out concurrently. Some of the weight lifting equipment to be used includes the following: crush hand gripper, rollers, rubber hex dumbbells, bumper plates, flat/inclined/decline bench, Olympic curl bar, power rack with deep attachment, adjustable squat stand strength. Cardio fitness equipment which includes: Treadmills, elliptical, rowing machines, spin bikes, upright bike, footwear, indoor rowers, steppers, zero runners, apparel and other exercise machines. Monday
Use if light weight lifting equipments;
Use of strings, Olympic curl bar, rollers, with cool music.

Light exercise geared towards losing weight accompanied by cool music.

Saturday
Demonstration and use of heavy equipments- crush hand gripper, rubber hex dumbbells, bumper plates, flat/inclined/decline bench, power rack with deep attachment, adjustable squat stand strength

Monday
Demonstration and use cardiovascular equipments by trainees-Tredmills, elliptical, rowing machines, spin bikes, upright bike, footwear, indoor rowers, steppers, zero runners, apparel.

           The cycle is repeated for four weeks

 
For four weeks the design of all cycle of classes will be as follows, there will only be evening classes, each session lasting for one hour purely physical training with demonstration by fitness trainer. The cycle will continue for four good weeks. The warm up segment consist of light exercise like stretching, press-ups, light races to prepare the body for physical exercise and assessment by medical doctor on general health status. The cool down segment is schedule to come at the end of training everyday during which assessment on physical fitness is done, dance as a therapy segment also incorporated for ten minutes only and progress report on fitness also given.
I find myself very comfortable with cardiovascular equipment since most of my clients want to shed weight to avoid heart-related diseases and also to keep them fit.
Every person has strength and weaknesses and as professional trainer exercise prescription, demonstration and instruction are key. Clients’ motivation is by setting goals and also providing feedback. Trainers also measure their client strengths and weaknesses with the fitness assessment. Fitness assessment can also be performed as a way of measuring clients’ improvement in physical fitness. It’s also important that trainers recognize their own weaknesses and in my case sometimes I forget to give a general health and nutritional guidelines which normally come last. According to Robb,” exercise is a subset of physical activity that is planned, structured and repetitive and has a final or intermediate objectives”. This is quite different than just being active. It’s critical for each class to have at least one goal and should be designed in a way that it is achieved. (Robb, 2009). Some of the goals to be achieved include;

Functional training to keep the body fit.
To demonstrate how to carry out various exercises and routines.
To give clients information about weight control, nutrition and lifestyle issues.
To give alternative exercise during workouts or classes for different levels of fitness
To train as a group but individual fitness and good health is the ultimate goal.
To monitor clients’ progress and adapt programs as needed.

As a fitness trainer or instructor I have to lead and motivate individuals or groups in exercise activities including cardiovascular exercise (exercise for blood system and heart) and strength training. It is important to note that you are working with people of all ages. As the instructor, I need to plan or choreograph my classes. I will always choose a music that is appropriate for the exercise class and creates a routine or set of moves for the class to follow. It’s also important to teach pre-choreographed routines. In this case, cardiovascular classes and strength classes will be offered at a different time. A group trainer always leads group exercise, this includes aerobic exercise, stretching, muscle conditioning or meditation.
In order to have a well-rounded workout, physical component fitness should be included into client’s programs. Physical fitness is defined as being in a general state of health and well-being or specifically the ability to perform the aspect of sport or occupations. Being at a high level of physical fitness can be achieved through the combination of daily physical activity, exercise and healthy diet. Improving in all areas of physical fitness will help one to improve daily activities and maintain the healthy lifestyle. Children, adult and the elderly will see improvements in all aspects of physical fitness if the proper training techniques are implemented in daily exercise routines. The fitness industry is always changing. Research is constantly being done and, therefore, new products are being introduced and last year hits trends most likely won’t stay around for long.
