Another reason for NYLS being my first top choice are about their name and history. The school was founded in 1891 which is among the oldest independent institution in U.S and have very strong and long history for academic. The name of the school stands for the city that I always wish to live and work there for entire life. I fall in love with the name so much that NYLS is the first law school that I thought when I started my application.
I came to U.S as a poor international student that my tuition was paid by our house’s mortgage. I brought a lot of a dream of being successful and abling to help people who have the same background as me. Our house in Viet Nam is still being in loan and we do not know when we can get back. However, my parents believe that education is the most important and they do not mind to work even their whole life to pay for my tution. I was lucky that I met my wife and sponsor me to live here as permanent resident. I am now able to ask for government loans and some aids to pay for extremely high cost of attendance in New York. I understand that $12,500 is very generous for our scholarship fund limited, and I do not intend to ask more if I do not have kids.
